fortress that is also a city within a city, yet it looks like a castle of
golden sand. If you want to get better Jaisalmer Tour Packages,

What to See in Jaisalmer: Jaisalmer Fort
The
area of the Fort of Jaisalmer, in a raised position with respect to the rest of
the city, has a triangle shape with the tip down and is a real city within the
city. It hosts about 3000 people, a quarter of the city's population, with
perimeter walls with a total length of 5 km, 9 meters high. The Fort,
accessible for free, houses the Maharawal palace, or Fort Palace, for a fee,
but also houses, temples, shops, guesthouses and restaurants in a maze of
alleys to be discovered. You can explore whole day at this place on your Jaisalmer Tour Package.
Fort Palace
The
Fort Palace or Maharawal Palace was built over the fourth gate, the Hawa Pol,
to be the residence of the Maharajas. 7 floors high, it is located in a
dominant position in the fort, with a series of interconnected rooms and an
incredible view of the city below. It houses the Jaisalmer Fort Palace Museum
& Heritage Center, with paid admission and 90-minute audio guide available
in 6 languages.
Patwon ki Haveli
Here
is the largest and most famous Haveli in Jaisalmer, from the early nineteenth
century. These are actually 5 Haveli with separate entrances, but connected
internally to each other for a truly surprising overall effect. 4 stories high
with a terraced roof, the façade of this Haveli is a riot of gilded decor and
filigree windows, carved cornices, balconies and Bengali-style arches.
Gadisar Lake
Impossible
not to mention this man-made lake dotted with stone “islands” of ghats and
domed pavilions. In this place the royal family came to admire the spectacle of
the monsoon storms on the lake. It currently hosts events and festivals, but
you can also glide on its placid waters with a rowboat.
Thar Desert
Outside
the walls, for a large part of this area of Rajastan, up to the frontier of
Sind province in Pakistan, lies the boundless Thar Desert. Do not leave the
city of gold before living an experience in the desert. Whether it's on camel
back or in a jeep, let yourself be taken to visit a local tribe.
